Ich würde es schön finden, wenn bei den “zugehörigen Namen” die Möglichkeit bestehen würde auch eine Referenz zu setzen auf einen anderen Kontakt. z.B Daniela Musterfrau gehört zu Hans Mustermann, wenn nun anstatt nur der Name der Link zur Person vorhanden wäre, würde viel bedienerfreudlicher werden. Diesen Ansatz könnte man noch weiter ausbauen, wenn man die WebApp mit einer Gruppen/Familien-Funktionen erweitern würde.

drei Dinge sind mir bisher negativ aufgefallen:

1) Ich muss das Datum in der richtigen Schreibweise eintippen, schoen waere ein Javascript-Popup-Kalender 2) Ich kann Kontakte vergeben (Vater, Partner …), schoen waere, wenn diese in der DB gesucht werden und direkt verlinkt, falls gefunden. (ich denke derselbe Feature Request wie von Ramon 22-May-2008 1. ) 3) Das Aufrufen von google maps fuehrt nicht immer zum richtigen Ergebnis. Bei “grossen” staedten scheint es besser zu klappen als z.b. bei meiner Heimatstadt. Die kann ich gerne auf Anfrage preisgeben, in einem weniger oeffentlichen Rahmen. Besser waere hier eine Unterscheidung pro Land (Deutschland: STRASSE HAUSNUMMER, PLZ STADT oder USA: HAUSNUMMER STRASSE, STADT, STAAT PLZ)

Wenn ich bei Person A einen Bruder B angebe, dann sollte Person B auch einen Bruder/Schwester A kriegen. Dazu muesste man aber noch ein Geschlecht einfuehren.

Was dem Adressbuch noch fehlt eine Update funktionalität, bei der es nicht nötig das das Programm nicht immer wieder neu installiert werden muß.

Ich denke da an ein Admin Menu in dem es ein Fenster gibt in dem vermerkt wird das es eine neue Version vorhanden ist mit einem Button zum Update.

i tried importing 1909 contacts and while a quick database perusal shows they all went in, i see “Contacts (1000)” above the contacts list on the left. any ideas?

Great online address book. I have been looking for a decent one for ages, then found yours. Thumbs up for a such a top job. Is it possible to add category to user permissions so that only certain categorys can be accessed by certain users. This would allow the book to be used in a non-private environment. Also you could allow users to change their password. Thanks again.

Ppublish the birthdays (through iCal), probably with a long, hard to guess, random URL. For the purpose of showing birthdays in your favorite online calendar. Google Calendar for example.

Connection with LDAP would be nice

Would it be an idea to slightly change the database structure? It now seems all Vcard markup is in some of the attributes. A proper relational db structure would mean better / neater import and export possibilities. Especially the emails, phone numbers, addresses, related names and url's.

For the admin preferences page: the option to default 'work' instead of 'home'. I use my iAddressbook for work mainly, and it's a tedious job to switch to work every time. (it's now hard coded in the tpl files). thinking of it: a different template where a checkbox-group is used instead of a dropdown box would allready improve it.

Same goes for the instant messaging default.

Plug In für Deutschland: Erweiterung des Automatischen Ortseintrags sobald man die PLZ eingibt das Highlightwäre noch wenn das Einzugsgebiet mitgezogen werden könnte. (Wenn du weitere Infos zu dem Thema oder die Ableitungstabellen benötigst (sofern du das Thema aufgreifen möchtest)kannst du dich gerne melden)

Meine wünsche: Ich brauchte diverse Zusatzfelder welche auch nicht als vcf exportiernar sein müssen. Was ich benötige ist einen Art Baukasten. Ich brauche diverse Textfelder (Textfelder) und Datumsfelder nach denen auch speziell abgefragt werden können sollte. Die Überschrift und die Inhalte der Pulldown Menus sollte mit persöhnlichen Angaben gefüllt werden können. Es sollte auch eine erweiterte Suchfunktion eingebaut werden die es möglich macht nach alle Inhalten der DB zu suchen. Es sollte aber auch möglich sein nach Zeiträumen zu suchen. Z.B. zeige mir alle an die 25 Jahre alt sind oder alle personen einer Zeitspanne. …etc.

Hi Jungs, ich krieg meine OSX-Adressen da einfach nicht importiert. Woran liegt denn das. Hier mal was ich gemacht habe:

1. Habe im Adressbuch die Exporteinstellungen auf V3.0 und UTF-16 gestellt (mit UTF-8 hat es ja auch nicht funktioniert) 2. Habe im Adressbuch alles markiert und alls .vcf exportiert, die Datei wurde geschrieben. 3. Habe mit iconv erfolgreich konvertiert. 4. Habe die konvertierte Datei versucht auf dem Server in das iadressbook zu importieren mit diesem Ergebnis: Could not detect encoding of file. Trying with ISO-8859-1… Error on import: the vcard is not in UTF-8 format and iconv is not available. Import canceled. Error importing vcard!!

Was läuft da schief?!? Könnt ihr mir da irgendwie helfen? Hat jemand ähnliche Probleme?

Some little things I noticed…

- Birthday import/export should probably have the format “00000000”. This is at least the format 'Outlook' or 'PalmDesktop' uses… - When I change (before installing) the field names in the default.php e.g. $conf['dbtable_ab'] = 'abook', I have to manually change the table names in the database to make it work…

Verbesserung Suchmaschinenoptimierung - Bei Aufruf eines Kontakts den Namen und/oder Firma, Tags und Kommentare in den Meta-Tags ausgeben.

Defizite - Zusatz bei Adresse ermöglichen, z. B. Max Mustermann, 1. Hinterhof, Chausseestr. 8, 10115 Berlin. - Sprachfile: Nicht für E-Mail und Telefon gleiche Texte nutzen, z. B. Büro. Besser wie in Outlook die Bezeichnungen differenzieren. - Tags mit Querverlinkungen - Links und Felder für Aktionen wie z. B. vcard hochladen oder Kontakt bearbeiten nur dann einblenden, wenn man eingeloggt ist und auch die Rechte besitzt. - Es kann nur eine Kategorie eingegeben werden. Besser: Kategorien durch Schlagworte trennen und bei der Ausgabe wie Tags verlinken.

Bugs - Kategorien können nicht mehr gelöscht werden.

Here's how I'm handling this currently. Recently I came across [http://iaddressbook.org/ PHP iAddressbook]. This is a cute little web app that creates a MySQL (or SQLite) database from a vCard file. It's designed as a single-user database, but I suppose it could be modified to tag each record with an 'owner' and with record-level access controls regarding read/write privileges.

By exporting my .mab files to vCard format (using the MoreFunctionsForAddressBook extension) and importing the vCard file to my PHP iAddressbook installation on the web, I get a way of cloning my local addressbooks and having access to them via the web. But this is a clumsy, manual process, there's no ability for true synchronization, and, as mentioned, iAddressbook isn't currently set up with multiuser access in mind.

(As an aside, I happen to like php iAddressbook's UI, which emulates Apple's AddessBook.app, and is quicker and easier to use for creating or editing contacts than the 5-tabbed Thunderbird contact edit window.)

this was while trying to upload a vcard file and some entries existed already. got a lot of those.

Also, my question is, i am on dreamhost, and for some reason, none of the pictures are transferring to and from the address book

I got them to come to/from iphone to address book, but from address book to iaddress book, they do not go.

Can you give me some pointers, i host at Dreamhost, and the installation wizard was able to get all up and running without issues, as much as I could tell..

Windows Vista doesn't recognize the UTF-8 format of the vCards exported from iAddressBook , and seems unable to validate several vcards at one time.

Using an Android phone, I need to keep gmail's address book up to date, but I don't trust it enough as my central address book. It would be nice to have a sync feature such that entries/ changes can be made in either application and reflected in the other. Thanks.

genial wäre eine iWeb-Integration. Dein Adressbuch als eine Art Baukasten-System. In iWeb lassen sich mittlerweile ja HTML-Bausteine integrieren. Da könnte man dann solche Bausteine erstellen mit Verweisen auf bspw. den Contacts-Abschnitt, den tatsächlichen Eintrag, die Button-Leiste und das Logo. So könnte man hübsch Dein Adressbuch in seine eigene Seite und sein eigenes Design integrieren. Ich hatte das schonmal mit einer älteren Version Deines Adressbuches bei mir versucht und es klappte ganz gut. Damals gab es allerdings noch keine Unterstützung für HTML-Bausteine in iWeb und es war insgesamt sehr umständlich. Wäre eine tolle Erweiterung (und Herausforderung).
